Sinong Mas Shopaholic?

[21 May 2010]  Our first stop for the day is on Ashford Designer Outlet, a prominent shopping center in Kent where (attention shopaholics!!!) top designer brands are sold on sale prices.  Definitely a lot of bargains for designer brands on all wearable.  The stores are in just in one circular layout so it’s easy for shoppers to roam around. 

But I tell you, a place like this really challenges the best of your REASONING. 

Rowsie’s options based on clear logical reasoning:

Option 1:            Don’t spend.  Buy only those that you really need for your existence, 

                          i.e. food for lunch

Option 2:             Spend a little.  Buy a pair of shoes or a couple of cheap tees.  That’s it.

Option 3:             Spend now!!! Di ka na makakabalik dito sa Ashford, ano ka ba!  Bargain                   

                           na nga, ise-sale pa nila, and may I remind you, it’s all B R A N D E D…    

                           Nakakahinayang naman di ba?

                           Ganito na lang, mag-advance purchase ka na dito tapos don’t spend for 

                           yourself until December pagbalik mo ng Pinas.  

                           Sounds reasonable di ba? 

                           Oh oh, basta wag ka mataranta….

Breath in, breath out….  Breath in, breath out…. 

Hahaha, ang hirap!!!  Okay, sa Option 2 lang ako. Okay…

Reasoning crisis solved.

And just when I thought deliverance from spending has dawned on me, I suddenly noticed Alvin behaving on quite strange ways:

Incident 1:          On Ralph Lauren.

                          Alvin went inside the store, Rose stayed outside and just looked on the 

                          mannequins in the glass walls.

                          Alvin, upon noticing that Rose is outside the store, went out and 

                          reprimanded her for allegedly “not supporting” him while doing his 

                          shopping.

Incident 2:           On Tommy Hilfiger.

                          Alvin is on the polo shirts section. 5 minutes. 10 minutes.

                          Alvin to Rose: Wag tayong bumili ng Tommy nu?  Sabi niya kasi di raw 

                                                dapat sinusuot ng mga Pinoy ang damit nya.

                          Rose to Alvin:  Talaga, sinabi nya yun??? Aiii wag na nu, halika na!

                          Alvin to Rose:  Pero gusto ko magkaroon ng Tommy eh... (sad face)

                          Rose to Alvin:  Uhhmm…

                          Alvin to Rose:  Bagay ba (on a white Tommy shirt)?

                          Rose to Alvin:  Bagay naman, ang ganda. 

                          Alvin to Rose:  Bilhin ko na to ha. ☺☺☺

                          Rose to Alvin:   ? ? ?

Incident 3:           On Nike.

                          Alvin saw the AIG football jersey.

                          Alvin to Rose: Tignan mo ang laki nang mura kaysa dun sa nabili ko.  

                                                Sayang, dito na lang sana ako nakabili.    

                          Rose to Alvin:  Ang mura nga dito kumpara sa price sa labas.

                          Alvin to Rose:  Bili kaya ulit ako nito?

                          Rose to Alvin:  Huhhh, ganyan ulit?

                          Alvin to Rose:  Oo, ang mura eh.  Kaso wala ng size ko….

                          Rose to Alvin:   ? ? ?

Toinks! Toinks!

Okay, better to end this story on this note. 

I never, and will never, ever, say that Alvin lost his rationality to the Designer Outlet, no way. 

Hindi naman ata kapani-paniwala yan. Alang basis... Ika nga ni Alvin:

"Oi, pwede kitang kasuhan diyan."
