After touring the Edinburgh Castle, we went afterwards to the Scotch Whisky Experience. |
The tour took us first to a barrel ride that narrates the whisky making process.
Then, the tour guide introduced us to the various regional whiskies in Scotland and
made us choose whether we like our drink to be fruity, sweet or smoky.
The aromas will determine which whisky region in the country it was made.
The Ageing Process |
Maturation stops as soon as the whisky is removed from the cask. |
Afterwards, we enter the vault containing the world’s largest collection
of Scotch Whiskys!
The Diageo Claive Vidiz Scotch Whisky Collection is the world's largest with almost 3,500 individual bottles. |
We also had a special tutored nosing and tasting for genuine and first class Scotch whiskys. |
It wasn't that bad, was it? Hehe. |
Scotch Whiskys, in all forms and sizes: |
Yes, it's a chessboard whisky. |
The Whisky Bar. |
The oak barell where the whiskys are put to age for at least three years. |
The Shop. |
I honestly didn't enjoyed much in this tour, I told Alvin that it's actually quite pricey for us to know and taste a whisky. But he said that it was interesting and he enjoyed it, so I guess it was fair enough for me. Imagine if he felt the same way as me, then the tour is definitely a waste of money. So I guess it really depends on the interest of a person. But for those who are not wine and whisky enthusiasts, it's just A-okay to pass this one in Edinburgh.
