St. Paul's Cathedral and the Millennium Bridge

Right after the Tower of London, we rode a tube and embarked to the station nearest to St. Paul's Cathedralthe most famous Anglican Cathedral in London.
It witnessed many important events in the British Royal Family and Great Britain.
It is also among the largest cathedral in United Kingdom.

We were welcomed by these lovely Victorian fountain
at the back entrance of the Cathedral.

The prominent dome of the Cathedral.

A&R getting a quick rest after a long walk.
... while watching a wedding entourage. :-)

The pillars...

St. Paul's Cathedral witnessed the funeral services of Winston Churchill
and the Jubilee Celebrations for Queen Victoria, among many others.
On July 21, 1981,
Prince Charles also wed the young Princess Diana at St. Paul's Cathedral.

And almost twenty-nine years after,
it's now Alvin John's turn to make his own history at the Cathedral.

The Millennium Bridge is a steel suspension bridge
for pedestrians crossing the River Thames.
The City of London School is found at the Northern end of the bridge.

From the northern end of the bridge one can
see prominently the dome of St. Paul's Cathedral.

It took us quite a while to find the bridge despite its proximity to the
St. Paul's Cathedral because I insisted leading the path which turned out to
be the long and wrong way, hehe..

That's why Alvin, as you can see in the picture below,
is nainis na and refused to have his picture taken at the bridge.
Oh well... Hehe.
:-)

Tate Modern is a famous modern art gallery in London.
It is one among the three other Tate galleries in UK such as
Tate Britain, Tate Liverpool, Tate Cornwall and Tate St. Ives.
Tate Modern is located at the southern end of the Millennium Bridge.

Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the gallery again due again to lack of time
:-(

The Millennium Bridge is a tourist attraction in itself
and also became an important landmark in London.

People are all out in the park,
even the pirates!
