Selamat Datang Di Kuala Lumpur!

Alvin flew to KL on February 5 to report to his office in Malaysia and process his visa for Algeria, his next work assignment. Nikki (Alvin's brother and only sibling) and I followed afterwards on February 11 via Air Asia in Clark Airport (DMIA).  It was my first time to board in DMIA and I can say that it wasn't much of a hassle travelling from Manila to Clark (thanks to Philtranco Bus Line that sends off door-to-door to Clark airport for PhP300/pax) considering the cheaper flight rates that Air Asia offers compared to PAL or Cebu Pacific.

We arrived LCCT KL at 3pm in the afternoon and the weather was more humid than in Manila.  Mainit!  We were a little bit disappointed as to how the airport looked like because it was small and has no aircon.  It was not far from the provincial airports we have here in the Philippines in terms of size - the arrival and departure gates are almost the same.  The funny thing is, Alvin couldn't agree more to our complaints when we told him about it.  He said that the KL International Airport (KLIA) is very big (like that of HK) and among the top airports in the world.  Okay, only then we realized that we arrived in LCCT and not KLIA, LCCT standing for Low Cost Carrier Terminal.  Oooops, hence, no more complaints. Haha!

KL Monorail at the heart of Bukit Bintang District

Instead of taking a cab which will cost us around RM70-RM100 going to KL, we included in our flight itinerary a SkyBus trip for only RM9/pax from LCCT to KL Sentral.  After an hour ride, we arrived in KL Sentral and then rode Monorail (mini-MRT) train to Bukit Bintang for only RM2/pax.  After an intense heat, heavy rain suddenly poured from the sky! We were so frustrated and laughing at the same time thinking that it seems Malaysia doesn't want us to arrive in our "best look".  After sweating-off from heat, now we're dripping wet from rain!!!  It took us sometime before the heavy rain stopped and we were able to left Bukit Bintang station to walk our way to the hotel.  Alvin was standing in front of the hotel, his face heavily worried, when we saw him.  Can't blame him, my roaming didn't worked and it was already 6pm when we finally arrived in the hotel.  It's a good thing that sun sets late in KL, it only dims at around 8pm.

After some rest, we walked our way to have dinner at the Pavilion, a prominent mall at the heart of Bukit Bintang.  Pavilion is situated at the back of the hotel where we stayed, together with the rest of other malls, bars, sidewalk food restaurants, and a lot more!

It is the tallest Liuli (a.k.a hibiscus, Malaysia's National Flower) Crystal Fountain
endorsed by The Malaysia Book of Records.
Of course, our first dinner: Spicy nasi goreng ayam and curry!  What else?

Added fun was that Pavilion was decorated festively for the Chinese New Year!  Here are our fun pics!

Beat the drums for good health, peace and prosperity!!!

This is it for our first day.... Off to rest! :-)
